Tower Awards This Wednesday This Wednesday, band is performing at the HBHS Tower Awards ceremony. We will be performing our new music repertoire as the audience is finding their seats before the ceremony, and then performing snippets of different songs between each departments awards. Weekly Recap Congratulations Drumline on a terrific performance at WGASC Finals on Sunday, we placed 2nd and received a silver medal! What a great way to cap off a great season. Everyone has put in so much work and all of it also wouldn't have been possible with all of our parent volunteers. So thank you!!!! Costa Mesa Jazz Festival This Saturday, April 26th This Saturday our Jazz Lab Band and Jazz Big Band will be performing in competition at the Costa Mesa HS Jazz Festival. I just confirmed makeup photos from PhotoHouse will take place between 2:00-4:15. If you're in the winds/percussion, I will temporarily dismiss you from rehearsal for a few minutes so you can go to the front of the theater, finish photos and come back to rehearsal. We will do this one student at a time. Hi all, Hope you had a great spring break! Because we're just coming back, I will not begin 6:00-7:30 rehearsals until Thursday. Tomorrow, Tuesday the 14th will be as follows: 2:00-3:45 Winds, brass, percussion - primarily Handel and Wagner, finish with Bolero 4:00-5:45 Strings- St Pauls suite, Mozart , Beethoven 1, finish with Bolero Starting Thursday, we will add the 6:00 time that will focus primarily on Bolero, Beethoven, and Mozart

Weekly Recap Our HBHS Colorguard are WCWG 2026 Scholastic AA Champions !! They finished off an incredible season with an 11 point score increase, and it's their 3rd season in a row winning a gold medal in championship competition. Congratulations Colorguard! Our HBHS Drumline also won first place at this past Saturday's WGASC Competition at West Covina HS! Last Week's Recap -We had a group of parents and students that came last Saturday to help paint our Drumline props. Thank you to everyone that came and helped! -Colorguard travelled to San Diego for the WGI San Diego regional, and participated in a 2-day competition. After a strong performance on Saturday, they qualified for finals the following day. First Drumline Competition 2/28! This Saturday, Indoor Drumline will travel to their first competition at Martin Luther King High School. Even though this competition is a bit far away in Riverside, please come support your students! Here are a couple of things to know for these competitions: They day starts much like a marching band competition day...we'll meet to change and load the equipment trucks, but we will travel to the competitions via parent volunteer cars.
