Aug 25, 2025 Band Notes

We are onto Week 2 of Band Camp, and school starts Wednesday! WOOHOO! We have had an amazing week 1 of band camp and have gotten a head start on our competitive field show, learned how to march, learned a bunch of new pep tunes, have had sectional time with our instructors, and students have been bonding with their fellow students.


We are going to have some shortened last couple days of band camp rehearsals. Check out the schedule below. Thank you parents for being flexible...once we get into the school year our rehearsal schedule stays consistent. Please know that the band room will be open for students all day Monday and Tuesday if they want to practice, need to do summer reading, or just need to hangout. I know that you may not be able to pick them up/drop them off at a new time so the space will be open for them.


Leadership will be performing at Monday morning's HBHS Staff Meeting. Call-time is 7:20am, unfortunately very early.


Rehearsal Schedule

Monday, Aug 25th

  • 7:20am Leadership Perform @ HBHS Staff Meeting

  • 9am-12:30pm Band Camp Rehearsal

  • First Oiler Music Guild Meeting @ 7:30pm in HBHS Band Room


Tuesday, Aug 26th

  • 2-9pm Band Camp Rehearsal (Provided Dinner 5-6pm)


Wednesday, Aug 27th (First Day of School!)

  • 1:45-4:30pm Marching Band Rehearsal


Thursday, Aug 28th

  • 1:45-2:30pm Marching Band Rehearsal (music sectionals only)

*The HBHS Bell Schedule is all traditional schedule for the first week. We normally will not rehearse on Thursdays.


Friday, Aug 29th

  • 1:45-4:30pm Marching Band Rehearsal

Parent To-Do Summer Checklist


  1. OVERDUE: Complete the Registration Forms at the end of the handbook. We need these turned in ASAP for every student.

  2. Attend the first Oiler Music Guild Meeting Monday at 7:30pm in the HBHS Band Room. There is important info to discuss, especially as we prepare to host CSBC Band Championships at HBHS again on Nov 22nd!

  3. Please volunteer in one of the following ways below 👇🏻

    1. Band Camp Tuesday Night Dinner - We need dinner donations Tuesday evening. Appetizers and main dishes are our main need at the moment! We thankfully have plenty of snacks and waters.

    2. First Football Game Concessions and Uniform Help - We host a concessions table on the away side of the game and need help manning the table. We also need help students with uniforms. We'll be wearing the new uniforms for the first time!

    3. CSBC Champs at HBHS! - We are still a few months away, but its our biggest fundraiser of the year and we need every family's help! Please sign up early for a shift.



Spirit Wear Shop Now Open!


Our Oiler Band and APA Orchestra Spirit Wear Shop is open until Sep 7th! Order now to get a band shirt, hoodie, hat, jacket, etc. You can click pick-up when ordering and everyone's order will be all shipped to the high school for students to pick-up in mid-September.
