Mar 2nd, 2026 Band & Colorguard Notes

Last Week's Recap

-We had a group of parents and students that came last Saturday to help paint our Drumline props. Thank you to everyone that came and helped!

-Colorguard travelled to San Diego for the WGI San Diego regional, and participated in a 2-day competition. After a strong performance on Saturday, they qualified for finals the following day. Congrats Colorguard!

-A group of our drummers and colorguard members performed at the 8th grade visit day on Tuesday morning. They performed for around 550 middle school students that were bussed in from our feeder middle schools.

-Drumline traveled to Riverside for our first competition of the year and placed 4th out of 16 groups in our division!

-Wind Ensemble has been working hard preparing repertoire for our Spring Band Concert on March 31st.

Second Drumline Competition 3/7 @ Marina HS

  • Please come watch our second performance! More info like the site address, ticket costs, etc can be found here.

  • Stay tuned for an email with volunteering opportunities. We will definitely need parent drivers!

  • Please email me if you have any questions at all! afloyd@hbuhsd.edu

2026-2027 OMG Board Member Position Availability

We are in the process of recruiting for next year's OMG Board Members! Here are the following positions needing to be filled:

  • VP of Orchestra

  • VP of Band

  • VP of Colorguard

  • Assistant Treasurer

All of these positions co-lead with someone else so don't worry, you will have a fellow parent with some experience able to show you the ropes.

In recognition of the time and talents volunteered of our Board Members, a 20% rebate

of dues paid for all of the programs your child is involved in throughout the year is being

offered! This can really add up for those families who have children in multiple groups

and events throughout the year (i.e. marching band, drumline, color guard, jazz band).

Please reach out to Sara Sprague, OMG Board Parliamentarian at (310) 406-5912 if you are interested.

Next Oiler Music Guild booster meeting this Thursday
