I just confirmed makeup photos from PhotoHouse will take place between 2:00-4:15. If you're in the winds/percussion, I will temporarily dismiss you from rehearsal for a few minutes so you can go to the front of the theater, finish photos and come back to rehearsal. We will do this one student at a time.
DON'T FORGET TO WEAR CONCERT BLACK
Strings, since many of you are coming from other schools, all I can say is arrive ASAP in concert black because photographers are leaving at 4:15. If you're here before 4:00, go get it done so we can start rehearsal with as many of you present
2:00-3:45:
Winds/brass/percussion
Trumpets/horns will work with Jessica for 30 minutes primarily focusing on Handel. We will then start Bolero to get it in shape for 6:00. Then Handel once brass are finished with sectional.
4:00-5:45
Strings
More of the same, we will work on style and intonation in Mozart and make sure we are ready to add the winds, then Bolero to prepare to run the piece in its entirety at 6:00
6:00-7:30
Tutti orchestra - order will go in reverse score personnel - start with Bolero for about an hour, dismiss all winds/percussion EXCEPT Jack, Isabella, Sabrina, and Cael. We will rehearse the 1st movement of Mozart 29
I’d like to get these pieces rehearsed and locked down ASAP so I can consider adding other pieces to the program, but at the present we have plenty to rehearse.
See y’all tomorrow! I'm taking attendance every day now and submitting to the office, I expect to see better attendance numbers (especially in the strings). After all, your final exam for this class is this concert and I promise you there's no way to pass a final if you don't study and miss the majority of the class sessions.
Please be mindful, we're in the home stretch and I desperately need everybody’s undivided attention in these next several rehearsals. I promise to give all my intent, passion and undivided attention, I just need to get the same from you in return and we can finish off the concert with a very happy audience!
