APA Orchestra Schedules & Updates
Happy Veteran's Day
And thank you so much to our Veterans for your service to our country and our community.

This past week, our Marching Band and Color Guard helped support the HBHS Football team at their first CIF Playoff Game (HBHS won!). Then, Saturday Marching Band and Color Guard attended their final regular season competition at San Clemente High School, receiving a score of 83.1 and moving on to the semi-finals next weekend!
This week, a handful of our Orchestra strings players will be playing in the Fall Acting Mainstage Show, Tartuffe. The show opens Thursday and runs through the weekend. Get your tickets to see it and support our strings players and enjoy APA’s Acting, Costume Design, and Technical Theatre students in their thought-provoking production of TARTUFFE where prosperous patriarch Orgon is plagued by insecurities, and the growing independence of his family isn’t helping. The strict sanctimonious scoundrel named Tartuffe has moved into the household to lay down the law; at least that’s how he represents his actions.
The Marching Band and Color Guard will be at CSBC Semi-finals this Saturday at Irvine High School. Come help us out as Chaperones, Equipment Truck Drivers, or donate waters and snacks to help the kids stay hydrated and nourished throughout the long competition day!

Additional Notes for Parents/Students-
- This week has a regular schedule for us, but beginning the week of November 18th we will have a modified, extended schedule in preparation for our final push of rehearsals for Sounds of the Season. This schedule will be sent out early this week so students/families can adjust as needed!
- We are looking for 1 parent who wants to be available for the APA open doors event. It’s on Monday, November 18th & Tuesday, November 19th from 3:30 to 5:30 pm. You just need to be available to perspective Apa parents to answer questions and give encouragement. Remember when you were in their shoes???? Tuesday is covered at this point, but we are looking for a volunteer for Monday. Please contact Nancy Stapp if you have any questions. Thanks!
- We’ll continue our holiday music preparation this week, and are off and rolling with quite a bit of music! We have out “make-up” recital for several students, which is planned to be both recorded and available for friends and family to attend, that will be during the final week of class before the Fall break. Student grades have been updated and will be sent out with the progress report.
- Please check your calendars now about the tech rehearsals December 9-12th and our concert dates, as these are mandatory!
- Additionally, we have the OMG and HBHS-Hosted California State Band Championships coming up on the Saturday before Fall break, which is the largest fundraiser for our collective music program of the year. Specific volunteer roles will be assigned for students, but we are actively searching for any parent/family volunteers who can help with the event. This one day event raises the program between $32-$38,000, and directly funds significant opportunities for all of our students!
