Current OMG Happenings

Saturday, April 20th is WGASC Championships. It truly is an honor to be the chosen school for this event and the money we earn through concessions and ticketing benefits ALL of our OMG programs (Orchestra, Band and Color Guard)!

We need YOU to help run the event.

Our Color Guard team will likely be performing at another location in the evening if they make finals, which they are on track to do! That means we will need extra people especially in the afternoon and evening.

Again, we are asking that each family donates 1 case (2 12-packs) of soda, as well as 1 package or batch of Baked Goods individually wrapped.

APA Orchestra Schedule and Updates- 4/15-20

This upcoming week will have no large ensemble rehearsals, but all sectional ensembles (Strings, Brass, Woodwinds, Piano) will still hold meetings. All sectional hours remain the same!

We will be joined at Fanfare by both the Dwyer Middle School Band and Orchestra, which should make for a wonderful evening of welcoming some potential future students to the program. We are looking at scheduling a day to bring several students from the orchestra over to Dwyer to also work in a joint rehearsal for recruitment efforts.

Our chamber recital has also been finalized, which will be held on Tuesday, May 21st @ 7:00 p.m. in the Black Box theater. Please have this on your calendars and come support some of the fantastic small ensembles!

Additional Notes for Parents/Students

  • APA is turning 30!!  There will be a celebration on April 21 during intermission of the 12 pm Clue performance.

  • The student chamber recital is scheduled for May 21st, 2024 @ 7:00 p.m. in the Black Box Theater. All students in small groups and pianos will perform this evening.

  • We (really) need student volunteers for our hosting of Color Guard championships on April 20th. The fundraising from these programs helps us fund much of our activities as well, and any volunteer contribution is immensely helpful. We need every student who is available to help out, as this serves as a significant fundraising opportunity for our entire OMG music program. This fundraising helps cover the cost of events, clinicians, sheet music, and equipment.
