After our first full week of classes, we are back in full swing for orchestra activities for the fall! Thank you to all the students for a fantastic start to the year, and we’ve got lots of exciting performances and activities ahead for the ensembles.
Musical Orchestra auditions wrapped up last week, and the roster has been posted! If you or your student made the ensemble, please make sure to review the Pit Musical Orchestra section for notes about rehearsals, picking up books, and volunteering expectations.

Pit Orchestra
Congratulations to all the students selected for the pit orchestra this fall! Auditions were outstanding, and this was one of the most challenging ensembles to seat for placement that we’ve ever had.
There may be additional opportunities for Understudies, pending director approval.
The Pit Orchestra rehearsal dates are as follows:
September 11th: 6-8:30 p.m.
September 13th (Saturday): 1-5 p.m.

October 2nd: 6-8:30 p.m.
October 4th (Sitzprobe rehearsal): 1-5:00 p.m.

NOTE: All dates for musical rehearsals and performances are mandatory. Any possible conflicts must be communicated with Mr. Bement and Mr. Myers as soon as possible for discussion about options, as the rehearsal schedule is very impacted.
Volunteer commitment:
As the students put in long hours for the preparation and rehearsal for the show, we traditionally feed the students for each day of tech rehearsal and at each show. This involves a small meal that gives them sustenance and nutrition to get through the rehearsal, and helps provide a much needed boost for the students.
This year, we ask that each family with a student involved in the show contributes to one portion of a meal for the students across the two week run of the production. Dates are available for sign-up here: https://signup.com/go/QXcjJnj
Piano Studio Updates
We are still waiting on Administrative approval for an update to the Piano studio schedule to accomodate instructor availability. As soon as that has arrived, we will confirm the updated days and times.
Currently, we are continuing with the schedule as written, but our potential updated time would be Wednesday and Friday afternoons, 4:00-5:30 p.m., with private lessons scheduled separately. For orchestra families with a piano student in the program, please let Mr. Myers know ASAP if that is a time that will absolutely not work!
